Brendan Pheasant, CFP®, ChFC® joined the Kahler Financial team in September 2022 as a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner and a Chartered Financial Consultant®.
Brendan is a true lifelong learner. He started his career as a commission-based financial representative in 2007. In pursuit of ways to better serve his clients who seemed to rarely complete their full financial house, he discovered comprehensive financial planning. He obtained his CFP® and ChFC® designations in 2016 and moved to a new firm to do comprehensive financial planning. Brendan saw a night and day difference but noticed even clients who were on track for all of their goals struggled to stay the course during tumultuous times or major life transitions. Sometimes they would manifest goals that did not match their values and were potentially very damaging to their overall plan. Knowing something was missing he decided to pursue a graduate certificate in life-centered financial planning from Texas Tech University.
It was there that Brendan had his first in-depth introduction to the rich academic literature at the intersection of psychology and finance. Brendan researched the authors of the textbook of his favorite class, which happened to be co-authored by Rick Kahler. Brendan fell in love with Kahler Financial and saw them as being decades ahead of what he was trying to build at his practice and decided to apply for the open position as a chance to join a company whose purpose and values he felt deeply connected with.
Brendan is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in personal financial planning at Texas Tech. Brendan is passionate about finding ways to support well-being, human needs, and flourishing in the financial planning process so clients can live their best lives.
