For 2014: Better Practices, Better Investments, and Better Clothes

newsOur goal is to make working at KFG as rewarding, challenging, and fun for our associates as possible.  Our goal is that each of our associates feel like they’ve “died and gone to heaven” when they come to work every day.  While we haven’t quite hit that mark ( and probably never will) it’s a worthy goal.

In quest of that goal, Rick recently traveled to San Francisco where he attended the last of four workshops given by Angie Herbers on optimizing workflow and operations.  As a result of these workshops, in 2013 we overhauled our processes, job descriptions, career paths, and policies.  We have an entirely new “Code of Conduct” (employee handbook) for 2014.  Some of the new perks at KFG include:

  • Non-specified PTO (personal time off)
  • Non-specified number of vacation days
  • Technology bonus
  • Unlimited educational bonus
  • Quarterly revenue bonus

Our staff also worked very hard to completely revise our policy and procedures manual that new employees use for training.  What our consultant recommended should be done in 12 months, we accomplished in just under 3!

biggest loserFrom San Fransisco, Rick then went on to Hong Kong for a quick two-day visit, where he met with several investment managers and  his good friends Greg and Holly Anderson who pastor the International Community Church. Greg shepherded Rick to a local tailor where he updated his wardrobe to counter the gradual disappearance of two inches of his waistline.

With all this updating, all of us at KFG can look forward to a productive, pleasurable, and presentable 2014.
