More 1099 Frustration!

Frustrated EmoticonThree days ago we sent out a post that TD Ameritrade would send out corrected Consolidated Form 1099s on Monday, March 9th . We received notice today,  Friday, March 6th  that they moved the date back several days to March 11th. Here is the complete notice from TD Ameritrade:

“The first cycle of corrected Consolidated Form 1099s will be available to your clients online on March 11, 2015, and mailed to them shortly thereafter. Copies of these corrected 1099 forms will be available on Veo® for your reference on March 11. This first correction cycle, which was scheduled for March 9, was delayed to align it with the Real Estate Mortgage Investment Conduit (REMIC) cycle.”

We sincerely apologize for this delay. We truly wish that this is something we could control.  If you have any questions please contact Nikolas at or phone 605-343-1400.

I was recently asked what is the biggest threat to the financial planning profession. My answer was government regulation. If I were to retire today it would not be because I didn’t enjoy financial planning, I didn’t love my clients, Or the challenges of running a business. It would simply be because of the ever continuing, stifling, mind-numbing, purposeless, government regulations.
