Unfortunately, the spammers are back at sending bogus emails to a handful of our clients. These emails almost always include the name of our operations manager, Beth Kangootui. Our IT consultants assure us there is no actual breech of any of your private data stored on our servers. Anything being gleaned by the spammers comes from public data. As long as you don’t click on any link, fill in a form with your sensitive data, or open any attachments, you are not at risk from these phishing emails.
In addition to these efforts, here are a few things you can look for that may help you better identify a spam email:
- Any email you get from our operations manager should now show up as Beth Kangootui (Valid) as the email title of where it is coming from. You can always hover your mouse over the name to make sure the actual email address is email@example.com as well. If it shows up as only Beth Kangootui in the name, it may be a spoofed email.
- If you happen to receive a spam/phishing email, please be sure to use your email system to block that particular email address, so they cannot continue to send you additional emails.
- Any email you receive from any KFG representative should always contain a signature block that looks something similar to the signature below this blog. If an email comes without this type of signature, you should question its authenticity. Any time you question the validity of an email, you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org ask about it.
We apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this has caused. We are hoping these changes can help our clients in the detection of spammers in the future.
