Last week, Rick wrote an article that defined some of the tech terms that we use here. I am concerned that it was still a little too techie for some of us. For those people, including myself, I am going to attempt to clarify a few of the words.
Blog – Most websites have a business purpose but blogs are websites used for personal writings. They are usually more interactive which means you, as the reader, can type comments back and forth to the writer. If you are reading this article, you are on the KFG blog.
Teleclass or Teleseminar – A teleclass or teleseminar is just the use of a telephone where several people can call a number and listen to a speaker.
Podcast – This is when we tape a teleclass, teleseminar, or Rick talking about a column or some topic, and put it on our website so you can listen to it later.
Webcast – This is a podcast with a video. This means you can listen and watch it. You will also find these on our website.
Webinar – This is a teleclass or teleseminar, but you can also view the speakers’ or other attendees’ computer screens. A webinar can also have verbal interaction between the attendees that are on the phone call.
I hope this helped some of you. If you are still confused or just have a question, don’t hesitate to call our office.
